Apply for the 2026 Portland Relocation Council Scholarship!

The Portland Relocation Council was founded in 2004 to support and educate those who have a common interest in global mobility.

The Portland Relocation Council is committed to giving back to our community and improving the lives of those in need. As part of our commitment to giving back we are offering a student scholarship program.

For 2026, one student will be selected for a scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

Qualifications

To qualify for participation in the scholarship program, students with relocation experience must:

  • Submit an essay of no less than 500 words in Word format, not a PDF, addressing the student’s challenges and experiences encountered while relocating to a new home and new high school, as well as any successes achieved.
  • Include your personal story and lessons learned as a result of the transition.
  • It is recommended, but not required, that the essay contain any advice the student applicant would give to another preparing to relocate.
  • Have moved and changed schools once in the past four years.

Required Supporting Materials

  • Documentation of a GPA of 2.5 or better on a scale of 4.0
  • A list of extracurricular activities
  • A letter of recommendation from instructor, coach or mentor
  • Completed application submitted on the PRC website by June 15, 2026
  • Completed application and supporting documentation emailed to info@portlandrelocationcouncil.com

Selection & Recognition

Students will be selected based on academic performance, recommendations from instructor, coach or mentor of the applicant or any others who have knowledge of the applicant’s capabilities, motivation, character, ability, or potential, and future plans to pursue a post-secondary education.

The winner will be invited to our upcoming PRC meeting to be recognized and to read their essay to our members.

The scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the student's educational institution.
