Thank you for a record 2016!
As those of us in the NW begin to thaw out from a wild winter I wanted to reach out and let you know about the exciting things happening in 2017 with the Portland Relocation Council. The Board of Directors and Committee Chairs met on January 26th for our Strategic Planning meeting. We reviewed our fantastic 2016 where our 3 events had a record combined 262 registrations, 134 unique attendees from 82 different supplier companies and 15 local and national corporations they support. We celebrated Cinco de Mayo together with a margarita at The Foundry with a water front view. Then enjoyed the brand new Top Golf facility in Hillsboro were those who could golf and those like me who had never hit a ball unless there was a windmill involved shared a fantastic summer evening. Then we ended the year back at the World Forestry Center where the Holiday Spirit was in full force and the generosity of our membership was on full display for our charity JOIN and the fashion sense of many were rewarded in our ugly sweater contest. Such a fun year and we may have learned a thing or two along the way with some truly fantastic education and updates that will be tough to top, thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to speak and participate in panels and share their insight and experiences with us.
We are excited to take this momentum into 2017 and share our SAVE THE DATES for our 2017 opportunities to join us. Our two Education Meetings are planned for Wednesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, December 6th. In addition back by popular demand we are returning to Top Golf this Summer for our Member Appreciation and Networking Event on Wednesday, September 13th with a Volunteer Day prior to that event.
I would like to extend a special welcome to 2 new Board Members filling midterm vacated roles for 2017. Debbie Convery from Nike will be our Co-Education Chair and Casey Hazlett from Sustainably Organized will be our new Website Communications Chair. They join the existing 2016-2017 Term Board Members which include:
Our goal for PRC is to consistently raise the bar on education, foster creative and innovative ways for our existing and new members to network and to do it all in fun, casual Portland style events. Our Membership remains just $100 for our Individual Supplier Membership and complimentary for our Individual Corporate Members. If you haven’t already gotten your 2017 membership set up we hope you consider joining us as a member.
I also wanted to extend a special thank you to the organizations who have already signed up to be a 2017 Annual Sponsor for PRC. MEET OUR SPONSORS Your support of our organization is not taken lightly, we truly could not do this without you. We will be wrapping up our annual sponsor opportunities shortly so we can work on our materials that highlight our sponsors for the upcoming events. If your organization is interested in the unique opportunity for recognition and visibility to our local and active group of relocation professionals, we encourage you to join our sponsors.
Lastly, be on the lookout for our 2017 PRC Organization Survey in the coming weeks, this is a confidential survey reviewing all things PRC and your feedback as our membership and attendees is vital to the operation of PRC and the choices we make on your behalf.
Thank you again for being a part of the Portland Relocation Council!
